Looking to replace your Homes HVAC system ? We can help!
When should you look to replace your Air Conditioning systems?
For the Fayetteville NC and surrounding area, It is fairly common to see air conditioning and heating systems last an average of 10-15 years efficiently. Generally speaking, if an air condition system is installed by a reputable contractor, that system should carry an extended parts warranty for about 10 years for the original home owner. Should you be faced with a major repair without parts warranty coverage, system is using a phased out refrigerant, or if your existing equipment is improperly sized then it would be recommended in most cases to look at replacement system options.
For most HVAC systems, finding the manufacture date can be easy to do if you know where to look! First, locate the equipment data tag. Generally this will be located on the units electrical cover, or underneath it. Posted below are some examples of equipment data tags. Most manufactures including HEIL, Carrier, & Trane will have a date of manufacture located somewhere on the data tag and be fairly easy to find. Other manufacturers, such as Goodman, York, or Lennox require a bit more research to find the manufacture date as it may be encrypted in the serial or model number.
